UK Vehicle Collection Guide

Before requesting collection, confirm whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers and brakes. If it is non-running, accident-damaged or missing keys, say so clearly. Transporters may need a winch, skates or other loading equipment, and accurate condition details help avoid failed collections or price changes.

A vehicle being carried on a transporter does not need to be driven on the road by you. That can make professional transport useful when the car cannot legally or safely be driven home. If the vehicle is to be driven at either end of the journey, different legal requirements may apply.
